Who we are
Freedom Wellbeing Project CIC is a community development project formed by Jackie Heffer-Cooke, senior yogi and scholar of Global Social Development. Set up to empower, inspire and share yoga with underserved communities in Norfolk, we are supporting children, families and adults to achieve better mental, emotional and physical health.

We see a world of thriving mental, physical and social wellbeing, where the benefits of yoga are authentically accessible and socially inclusive of all communities.
Wellbeing for all
The CIC aims are to ensure that therapeutic tools and techniques including breathwork, mindfulness, sharing circles and yoga are accessible for everyone, and especially for people who experience enduring barriers to financial security, wellbeing and health.
Our current Yoga in Action project focuses on supporting children, young people and pregnant & new mothers.

Jackie Heffer-Cooke
Director & CEO
Jackie has been teaching yoga for 14 years and is a master in massage bodywork, a senior yogi, a hypnobirthing trainer, a stress management and mindfulness coach as well as a former TV producer, and a writer for Om magazine amongst others.
She is currently studying an MA in International Social Development at the UEA as a way of service, to effect helpful change, in places of need. Particularly interested in how yoga can help with overall wellbeing for children and young people, including those with Neurodiversity, recent research, Awkward Education, examines the narrative around neurodiversity, ADHD and autism within the school framework.
Mahalia Curtis
Marketing & Design
Mahalia is a yoga teacher, writer and creative who specialises in supporting charities and organisations in the wellbeing, environmental and social impact sectors. She completed her YTT with Jackie in 2021 and is passionate about spreading the benefits of yoga, interweaving her knowledge and understanding into authentic communications and creativity.
Her experience working for purpose-led design studios, writing for Disability rights charities and marketing for yoga and wellbeing organisations amongst others, all contribute to a drive to use words and visuals as a force for good in the world.
Alex Trava
Operations Manager
Alex brings over five years of diverse professional experience in education, project management, and administration.
With a background in Educational Psychology, Alex has spent many years shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning in her students, earning her numerous accolades and recognition within the academic community.
Alex has also overseen various educational and community projects, managing operations and handling communications. Currently studying International Social Development alongside Jackie, she will be bringing her unique skills and experience to her role at the CIC.
